Fiddes wax polish over poly x?

Hi recently made a 'vanity unit from oak sleepers. A sink will be placed on top so will likely encounter water fairly regularly. I've already treated the whole thing, first with poly x wood protector and then 2 coats of the poly x hardwax oil. Question is can I then cover it with a coat or two...

Best (budget) way to join railway sleepers.

Could you describe how I'd do that Please? So hollow out a couple of sections underneath both sides, drill a hole large enough from the inside sides and use these bolts?

Best (budget) way to join railway sleepers.

Great butterfly joints it is. Should I do these top and bottom do you reckon? Due to the width of the wood? Not sure if the client will want visible butterfly joints on the top surface so would one side be sufficient?

    Furniture from railway sleepers

Really appreciate all the advice folks. General consensus is to use dried out oak (I think!) trying to source this at the moment and it's proving difficult! So the BLO is the best finish to use?

Kiln dried oak beams you mean? Or would the kiln dried wood of those mentioned be ok? Forgive my ignorance! Planning on distressing it as wel. If I could figure out how to attach a picture I'd upload it. Am I able to message you it?

    Furniture from railway sleepers

Hi, I'm a budding furniture maker and have been asked to make a vanity unit from 'Railway sleepers'. I've done a bit of research and understand the old used sleepers have been treated with fairly toxic stuff so should not be used. General consensus I have read is that it should be new Oak...
