    Veritas Tenon Cutters - Adjustment

hi, can anyone tell me how much adjustment there is in the blade on these. i see they do adjust a little, but specifically, i'd like to adjust the 9/16" one out to 15mm, to match my forstener bit, so adjust the diameter out ~0.7mm. and perhaps that means only need to adjust by 0.35mm as...

Recommend a self cleaning extractor please! ideally small as possible

well that was productive! in case anyone's reading in the future, i've settled on a Karcher, the NT 30/1 Tact TE L not especially small but ticks all the boxes otherwise, i've found for a good price, and there's a supplier in my town so should be able to get bags etc. the fein was probably in...

Recommend a self cleaning extractor please! ideally small as possible

i had my heart set on the new makita VC1310, as it says in some places it has automatic filter cleaning, but i recent;y read a review saying no, it in fact doesn't. other requirements are an auto start socket and adjustable suck power. manual filter cleaning button would be ok too thanks

Anyone have Bosch GOF 1250 or Makita RP1110?Collet question.

thanks lurker, i'm after half inch mainly for compatibility with the 5 or 6 good half inch bits which i have already, which don't get used in very demanding situations torque-wise in general; they're just round-over, bevel and flush trim type bits. if i did't have any i'd be happy enough...

I had got it in my head tho, that the bosch did in fact take half inch bits, as if i'd read it somewhere. I guess not..

Anyone have Bosch GOF 1250 or Makita RP1110?Collet question.

I'm back on the hunt for a midi sized router. does anyone have either of these? i'd like to know if either of these will accept 1/2" bits. they both list that they take 8mm, but i'd just like to be sure that this is not just the biggest collet they come with, and that neither can, in fact take...

thanks everyone for the replies. hardening is somthing i want to start doing, which is why i was considering having a go. making in mild is a good idea, but i think must of my use tends to demand a bit harder. plus i slip other jaws over . so what are the pros and cons of using mild verses tool...

    Hardening for vice jaws.

i have a decent vice where one of the original jaws is snapped in two and has a corner missing. after hunting around for replacements it occured to me i could make my own and it'd be a good first project to learn about hardening and tempering. i have a great book on the subject, which i haven't...

    Smallest half inch 1/2" router?

so far i've found the triton one: Triton 925837, 1010W and looks quite andy, speshly at 150 quid, or a similarly sized blue bosch at more like 400 anything else i could consider? i already have a ig makita and a bosch mini router. i'd like a 'midi size so i caa leave the big one in the table...

    Handle for Recip. saw blades

having just finally bought a reciprocating saw, i'm looking for a handle i can use with the blades. so far i've seen bosch ones, green and blue are the same apparently and it looks a bit plastic-y, a Stanley fatmax, which doesn't sound great for the way it holds the blades, and a Lenox -...

    Adapting a Numatic NVD750 to take 100mm

I've just picked up an NVD750, for 120 euros, pretty happy with that! but it's an older model and doesn't have the inlet for the 100mm tube, just regulat screw-on 38mm tube. this is achly fine for everything i have at the moment, but when i get a new P/T it'll presumably have a bigger outlet...
