    small panel saw?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a small sliding table saw? In a previous life I had both the 3.2m Griggio and Altendorf machines. I have been looking at the likes of the Record power machine at about £1300 but am wondering about the accuracy and quality. I haven' actually seen one in...

    makita ls1018

Does anyone have a makita ls1018? I got one of these last week from axminster and don't know whether i am being picky! When the blade slows down, at the last 2/3 revs the blade moves from side to side almost as if there is a wobble washer in in it, it's not much but clearly visible. The sliding...

    Flood damage, renew floor joists?

Hi guys, I am working on the flood damaged properties in Carlisle. In the one I am working on at the moment, the chipboard living room floor was under 6 feet of water. Took the chipboard floor up and skipped it. The floor joists were renewed 10 years ago after the last floods with regularized...

    Plastic or metal ducting?

In a previous life I had a small dust extaction system using drainage pipes. Then 1 day there was an almighty fire at 2 in the morning, fire engines all over the place. The cause, according to fire service, was started in the dust extractor. Most likely a spark from a hidden nail in some oak...

    dust

I am looking for a small really cheap dust extractor to collect dust from a random orbit sander. I don't really want to spend £100 plus for a machine that is only going to run 1 power tool occaisionally, any ideas?

    Accoustic insulation

I plan to revamp my workshop in the new year. It's a double garage, single concrete block, rendered and has a slate roof. The only entry is the garage door which is insulated and about 5 years old. I plan to put in a seperate single door and a couple of windows. I have had some remarks from a...

    van dyke crystals?

Anybody got any ideas to give that old look to an Oak side board made in American Oak. I was recommended to use crystals but am having problems with consistancy (patchy), even though its the same mix. I have tried some dyes but not quite found the right colour and I tend to mess that up as well...
