Routing for beginners (and routing tables)

Hello to all, Does anyone know about the Excel 11051 table router, sold by Tools for Trade? I can’t find reviews anywhere, so I wondered whether anyone could advise me? Is the brand a reliable one? As a company, how do you find Tools for Trade? Any advice would be very welcome. Stay safe.

    Dust Extraction

Hello all! Can anyone help me with a bit of advice? I am looking for a better way to tackle the dust in my workshop; I have a Draper low pressure extractor (which I don't find to be very efficient) plus a small wet/dry vacuum cleaner, bought from Machine Mart. This one is OK but fills up...

    Yew

Hello everyone and Happy New Year. I have turned a couple of bowls from Yew and would like to use one as a fruit bowl. I have researched Yew and can't find find much agreement as to whether it is too toxic to use with food. No site seems able to suggest a finish or other way to ensure I...

    Finishing Oak Plates

Thanks for the advice. Someone (not on the forum) mentioned chestnut hard wax oil. Is this also a good option. Custard, I am in Waterlooville. Thanks again.

    Finishing Oak Plates

Hello I have been asked to turn a number of collection plates for use in a church, using European Oak. As these will not be used exclusively for 'silent collections' (notes only), I need to protect the interior of the plates from the wear and tear of coins. Does anyone have suggestions for a...

    Honey Fungus

Hello I am new to this forum but have used the site to find out a lot of excellent information. I have a piece of newly cut oak which need to be cutto suitable size, but it has some signs of Honey Fungus. It it safe to turn? Are there any issues around health & safety? Thanks in advance.
