My TS-200 table saw bought cheap on ebay is home:) *pics*

(Thread title changed) ............... At least I might have done if the seller ever replies to my emails. this is it took a bit of a punt on it as it looks like a TS-200 and even if it needs a new motor it might still work out as a reasonable price for a year old machine. if I'm wrong then at...

Kitchen worktop repair - suggestions needed

Yesterday my wife put a hot frying pan onto the kitchen worktop which resulted in a loudish popping sound and a 2p sized area of the surface exploding away from the substrate. The piece that came off is intact and about the thickness of a heavy paper. It is slightly flexible so I guess it would...

    Faulty Bessey DuoKlamps

I bought my one and only set of Bessey clamps when Axminster had their offer a long while back - 2 1m K body clamps with 2 300mm DuoClamps. I've been having the odd problem with one clamp slipping and now the other one is playing up too. The first one the main problem is the little rotating...

    Bandsaw - Height adjustment stiff?

The height adjustment knob on my Jet JWBS14 (?) seems to be getting stiffer and stiffer. Now I guess it should be reasonably tight to maintain a grip on the moving parts but it is getting to the point where turning by hand is getting very difficult. The locking screw is definitely not done up...

    Stuck immersion heater bung

Been struggling with this for far too long today! Sorted now. New boiler being fitted next week (like for like conventional but hopefully cheaper on the gas!) so no hot water for a couple of days... unless I fit an immersion heater to the indirect cylinder. Easy job... just unscrew the plug...

Comp WIP - Extending Table - Completed! Animation added.

Thought it was about time I started a WIP thread. Might help get me moving a bit faster. At current speed I might just make it by the end of the allowed time.. might :) I've spent a fair bit of time on the completely unproven design in this thread - https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/view ...

    Home made thick veneer?

I've got some beech and am looking at getting started on the making of my table project. It will look something like this - With breadboard ends on the main top and the pull out extensions. I know the problems with breadboard ends so I want to fake it rather than use solid wood. I was...

Extending table - Design in progress!

There seem to be lots of other things that have to be done before I can get to make anything for my comp entry so no WIP thread from me for a while. I need to get the basic idea for the mechanism sorted before I can progress with the rest of the design. thought a design in progress thread would...

    Adirondack Kitchen cupboard doors

Well they were Oak kitchen cupboard doors but now they are two Adirondack garden chairs :) The panels inside the door were not big enough for most parts so I cut the rails into square ended and sided pieces and glued them into panels. The PU glue I used claimed it is suitable for immersion in...

How to print Full Size paper templates from sketchup

I've been drawing up a garden chair project in sketchup. Some of the pieces I need to make have shapes that would take a bit of marking out so I thought I'd cheat and print them out full size so I can stick the paper onto a panel then cut round the profile on the bandsaw. That was when the...

    Integrated appliances and hanging doors

Just wondering if there is some easy way of doing this that I don't know about :) I've just installed a new fridge freezer and have been looking at hanging the cupboard doors to go on the front (which i have yet to make). Initially I fitted some mounting plates for Blum hinges. On trying to...

    MDF construction advice needed

I'm planning on starting on a corner TV stand unit soon. It will need to be dragged out now and then whilst setting up or plugging in things etc so I'd like it to be pretty rigid and stay that way. It will have glider type feet and be on carpet so It shouldn't need excessive force to move it...
