    Router table insert

Excuse my ignorance, but why is the router plate slightly bowed? I bought one recently and have had it clamped down to a work top for a couple of weeks trying to flatten it! I don't see the point in working so hard to get a flat surface to then put a bowed router plate in it  surely...

    Sketchup - keyboard shortcuts?

Is it possible to change your shortcuts via a ruby script? If it is then you (or someone who knows how to write them) could write an autoloading ruby script that would result in a button (called 'metric' or similar) on one of the menus that when pressed changed your shortcuts to allow you to...

    CAD Gallery

First bit of real furniture (after all the cabinetry is out of the way) will be this: The legs will be curved at the bottom instead of the angles. Can't figure out how to do compound curves in sketchup

    Ebonizing Wood

Jason, Do you hand craft or carve the models shown on your photobucket page or are they assembled kits? Whichever way you make them they look really good, I'm especially interested in the Japanese busts. Sorry for veering off of the post subject

    Router Table Insert

Ian, You really are to modest, it is an excellent article! I am only hoping that building it is easier than tracking down the two volumes of the magazine! I have changed the design sligthly due to space considerations and my saw table is larger than the one you designed it for. I am hoping to...

    Dorset hardwood

Spent a frustrating couple of days trying to source some hardwood for the fence assembly for the router/saw table I am hoping to build over Easter. Can't find hardwood any where in or around Poole, can get the softwood and sheets of ply & mdf no problem, but no hardwood! Does anyone know of a...

Nearly have my saw bench/router table design complete and have decided to use a Router Base Plate from Rutlands to attach my shiny new Triton 1/2" router. The base plate is 9" x 12". two questions: 1) how close to the front edge of the table should I install the base plate? 2) should I...
