How do i cut a straight line

I am slowly building a cupboard and shelves. I have cut the front panel of the cupboard and i have also cut out the square opening for the door which i will make out of left over oak floor boards. I used a jigsaw to cut the lines for the door and so the left and right shorter sides are pretty...

    i think i need a router

I will use a saw to cut the posts down, but couldn't i use a router to put a corner finish all the way round the top, so water runs off ? With the mono roof, how do you use a saw to get a rounded finish on the ends which will be seen and so you want then to be a bit more decorative.

    i think i need a router

My longish post has disappeared, so here i go again. I need to buy a router for some shelf work, but i also want to know if i would use this for 2 other tasks. 1) shelves = need to rout an ogee line onto my 2 x 1" batons which will hold the shelves up (photo included) 2) gate post top = i...

    Making door canopy

Maybe use treated timber then. Oak seems expensive, but i know it is high quality. I use linseed oil on my garden cabin and it has no problems.

    Making door canopy

I am going to make a door canopy pretty similar to this Richard Burbidge design: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Richard-Burb ... %7Ciid%3A1 IF i use softwood the wood will cost about £20, but i want to make it in a harder wood. I can buy the wood i need in a 44x44mm size and i think this will be...

    Making own gates

The link to the gates looks amazing. Pretty complex for me to be going to those lengths however. I really need to buy my wood already in the lengths i need. Oak is good i suppose, i have read it can warp a bit more though. Need to go down to the wood supplier and have a chat about woods.

    Making own gates

I am still laying my new block paved drive, but am now thinking about making my new gates. The opening will be about 3.2m wide and i want to make the left side 2/3's wide and the right side a smaller 1/3 size. So this will be the actual main gate which we use most days. Behind the larger...

Using Full sheet ply for new door

Ok, so the idea of a sanded sheet of birch ply is ok then ? What is a good clip to use at the top then ? I have used basic magnets before, but these will be better if i use something a bit stronger. Any ideas ?

    Advise needed on staircase
