A few more:
Axminster make a lot of drill chucks, lathe heads etc in the UK (They advertise it on the wall in the stores)
Charnwood I believe make some things in the UK (probably just bandsaw blades)
Dakin Flathers bandsaw blades (They are the ones I use and they are superb!)

I would recommend Record Power. I've had a DX1000 for years and it is 100% superb & reliable with my BS250 Bandsaw. Their new Camvac ones are made in the UK - which is exactly what we want, as we do not want to be giving custom to China after what they have done to the world over the last 14 months
I tried that and got a very crappy reply from someone who sounded like they hadn't got a clue what they were on about & didn't even answer my question!
I read on here that Alan Holtham is a member. Could he maybe have some idea? That would be like getting an answer from a "celebrity"! :D

Having recently purchased a sander from them, it arrived faulty. After the 1st fault, another occurred when. part broke on it's first use.
Here's the LIST of things that I have found about Mackay's since this item arrived:
1) They didn't want to have the item returned - they wanted me to fix it...

I ordered the Record Power sander. It arrived and was faulty - the disc was loose and wobbled & rattled. It was also not connected to the drive correctly because you could turn it about 1/2 turn with your finger before the belt would move...
Hi, I'm new to this Forum.
I can't decide between the Record Power belt & disc sander (the £159 one - currently reduced to £139 during their "Christmas Cracker" discount) and the Axminster one (£119).
Any advice? Are RP better than Axminster? Same?
