Wood filler to use on doors to be painted

If money is no object the two part resin filler is good for sash and door repairs, very expensive and hard to sand but not just fills it adds strength.

    Chain and Chisel morticer/mortiser

Thanks everyone, I think the oscillating morticers seem to be the way to go, after looking at the us forums chain morticers seem a bit messy and a little sloppy on the joints. Tom.

Idiots guide to hinges and drawer runners.

Most draw runner suppliers will give you a detailed drawing of how to make draw boxes to suit their runners, don't really need a jig, same for hinges, Dims of hole ect. Just take you time and be as accurate as you can to match drawings, hinges are adjustable, some runners are two, good ones not...

    Buying Birch Plywood in Bristol

Just to give you a comparison I was quoted for sapele veneered birch ply 19mm £80 per sheet so normal birch should be much cheaper.

    Chain and Chisel morticer/mortiser

My Cookesly is a bit under powered it has a three phase 1hp motor running though a phase converter of 240v, fine for most woods but tropical hardwoods like Idigbo and sapele stall the motor sw no prob, oak possible but hard work. I'm mainly using 3/4 and 16mm chisels for windows and doors. I've...

kitchen worktop cutting with a jig and whatnot..

Hi, you can buy cheap jigs possibly tool station or ebay, But you will need a half inch router with a 30mm bush and a half inch straight cutter. It's worth using a good quality cutter, you get a far better joint. It used to be a rule of £60 plus cost of new cutter a joint but most people tend...

    This is just unbelievable

I guess it shows it worth buying good quality cutters from a reputable supplier, no expense spared. I've seen cheep saw blades warp when used in machinery, at 3000rpm plus it not worth it! Another irresponsible method I've watched is someone using a router cutter from a overhead router in a...

Glue for Melamine cabinets with domino's

Is Titebond worth the price? Never used it seems very expensive to me. A good quality pva always has worked for me, a D3 rated wood resin pva like evostick should do the job, a polyurethane glue rated as D4 (completely waterproof) and comes in 5 min or 30min usually, sticks just about anything...

    Non-through cuts, a "forbidden operation"?

I just thought by explaining how I have experienced kick and how it can happen and how the knife is only really is in use on longer cuts it my help others avoid injury and kick back. Just trying to be helpful and share my experience of machining, i thought i made some valid points on...

    Non-through cuts, a "forbidden operation"?

I've only had one injury due to machining and it wasn't a kick back, the point I was making is if you understant what can happen respect your machinery you are less likley to be injured, If you are close enough to need a gard your to close!!! I'm not saying you shouldn't use gards you should.I'm...
