    Holdfast for £49

I too bought a couple off Richard T, and like everyone else who uses them I couldn't be without them. Easily the most used tool in my workshop, after the hammer that secures them (hammer) If the ones in Workshop Heaven were half as good I'd pay £49 for them without a second thought.

Really good customer service from Axminster

I don't think that there are enough happy customer stories floating around on the internet, so I thought I would share my recent good experience. I bought a Trend T5 from Axminster about 3 weeks ago. Since then I've only made about 20 cuts, making a hinge jig then routing out the some hinge...

A new timber tech book. Would you buy it?

I'd buy it, without a second thought. Sounds like a fantastic reference work. I often find I enjoy reading about a subject and preparing for it more than actually doing it. So please publish :-)

How flat should a router table insert plate be?

Thanks chaps. I think I can live with it for now. I've wasted enough time setting the two plates up now, so think I'll just compensate where necessary. I did a couple of sliding dovetails yesterday, and know how to correct for it. Baldhead, I would have taken the whole lot back, but I like...

How flat should a router table insert plate be?

I recently bought a small benchtop router table from Axminster (http://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-pr ... uter-table). The table itself, and the accessories are fine and certainly do their job, but the insert plate was rubbish and sagged by a couple of millimetres when mounted with a Trend...

Oneida Dust Deputy deluxe - availability?

I decided to bite the bullet and get one from Germany. Ordered around midnight on the 27th Nov, it was here on the morning of the 1st December. I was expecting 1-2 weeks, especially with Xmas around the corner. Just got to find the time to set it up now :-)

Oneida Dust Deputy deluxe - availability?

Hi. I've decided it's time to get a cyclone for my workshop and have my eye on an Oneida dust deputy. I can't find a bad word about it. Has anyone managed to buy one of these in the last month or so? I've searched seemingly everywhere, but cannot find it in stock anywhere in the UK...

making a Table Saw stand mobile

Hi, I've just bought my first ever table saw, a Makita MLT100, and have made a quick stand for it out of some 8x2's and 4x2's. It's ready to be mounted onto the stand, but it occurred to me as I was trying to man handle the saw out of its box that it would be a right pig to try shifting this...

Workbench top - which sheet material(s)?

Thanks chaps. I intend to glue them up on the floor to keep them as flat as I can, what's the best way to stick the sheets together, ensuring a good bond all over? Will this happen under their own weight or do I need to throw every heavy thing that I own at them? I'm assuming that something...

Workbench top - which sheet material(s)?

Hello, I'm new to woodworking, but have been reading as much as I can from these forums since I stumbled across them whilst researching workbench designs.  I'd like to offer a huge thanks to everyone who has contributed posts in the past, the sheer quantity and quality of informative and...
