Small cabinet for in the workshop as part of a never-ending quest to make space.... And as an exercise for making some cabinets for in the house. Made from poplar ply - very light and easy to work with but for builds for in the house I would add some form of edge banding (or go Birch ply). Doors...

Hi All, A small table made from leftover plywood with an oak drawer front. Finished with water-based polyurethane (plywood) and oil (the drawer front). As usual, nothing is perfect, but I am the only one to notice, so not something to spend any energy on! Drawer does not run very smoothly - will...

Small side table (H: 28 cm). Made laminating scrap slatted bed base with an Italian tile in the top. Mostly made it up as I went along, using both hand and power tools. Working with the design constraints imposed by the material was fun and satisfying! Simon

    Customs declarations and brexit

View from the continent: Two misconceptions about the EU that I hope are worth commenting on. Firstly, the strength of the EU is not in what it is but in what it removed, namely different barriers to trade and movement. Unfortunately, that the main strength is the absence of things makes the EU...
