I've just bought a second hand BS350 which is only a couple of years old. I've noticed the bearing guides (top and bottom) are very noisy and the rear bearing guides have groves cut into them. This causes sparks to fly when I'm cutting into anything substantial. Wondering if any other members...

Thank you Chaz, on reflection I should bought a 2 pole motor as the spindle RPM = 7000. The flat bed pulley on the spindle is 50mm, which means my motor pulley would need to be 350mm which is far too big.
