    Question for the sparkys

Yesterday I removed my 21 year Bosch oven, just oven, not hob, it is rated at 2000W - which is about the same as my router. Today, remembering your question I examined the cable. It's 1.5mm2 heat resistant. It was absolutely fine. found this, https://www.niceic.com/Niceic.com/media ... tsheet.pdf

My wife tried to kill me.

In this house I'd explain to Mrs MSeries what I am doing, get her agreement that it's Ok to knock the juice off for half an hour or so, then she'll not touch the switches. Even if we didn't talk, and the juice was off she'd consult me first rather than dick around herself. Trust and communication.

    Router table design advice

My router table is a piece of very old kitchen worktop. The surface laminate is paper based and is peeling off. My routers are fixed to a rebate in the inderside leaving the top about 9mm thick at this point. On the top side I use 6mm MDF discs to create smaller/larger apertures for the cutters...

    Shop vac buying advice?

I use a Draper WDV1400 but I don't think they do the same model now. Power tool take off, 3m hose, big plastic drum, nylon filter to allow the dust to settle in the drum. I use it with a cyclone now. Noisy, yes but no worse than a 2000W router and I'll have my cans on anyway.

    Lost and Found

I don't lose much either. Like you I generally put things away. The spirit level was packed in a box with some offcuts when my workshop contents moved - shows how often i use the offcuts box -it's got to go. The set square was residing on the shelf behind my bench and I almost certainly put it...
