oh forgot to tell... it´ll be mostly used for guitar work so it´s light stuff. max depth i need to cut on a regular basis is 8 cm thick spanish cedar (the hbs250n can´t do it). a good working fence and tilting mehanism would be next on the list (again, rubish on the hbs250). thans!

Hi all, long time no see! I need (or want) to buy a new bandsaw. should´ve bought a better one in the 1st place... i have an axminster´s smaller HBS250n that never worked really ok, even though i spent quite some time trying to improve it. max cash i can put into this is 500 eur, but i can fool...

I don´t think bahco are made by Feteira. at least not all of them. Bahco are made in the north of Portugal , while Feteira´s factory is near my place in Leiria. Feteira is an old and respected brand around here. I have some small files from Feteira and find them very nice, but i use them...

nothing wrong there, i like 4 piece backs. i myself will sometime in the future be making an 7 (!!!) piece back out of thin Brazilian rosewood strips. thanks, Miguel.

thanks guys. I know it has been used for fingerboards, but my main issue is long term stability.. Ebony has been extensively used but still its stability worries me, so Laburnum could perhaps be an alternative. I might use it for an all domestic wood guitar, a thing most makers seem to want to...

How stable is laburnum once dry, can anyone tell me? I'm planing on buying some for making guitar fingerboards, I guess anything should be more stable than gaboon ebony... Thanks! Miguel.
