Few Disston + other saw's to tidy up.

So made by someone else and just branded by them then? I like the way they've styled their logo to look identical to the Disston one. The handle has cracked on that one at some point in the past and been repaired with a big screw through the top, not very pretty, and the joint still moves...

Few Disston + other saw's to tidy up.

Not been on here for a while but I came by these the other day and thought they may be of interest. I can't find any info on the small brass backed " Millar & Byers" saw so if any on has any info that would be good. Hopefully they'll clean up okay, more to follow.

    Hand held CNC, shaper origin.

Just came across this on the net, https://shapertools.com/#Howitworks Looks interesting but only available for pre order and then only in the US. Partners with festool according to the site so quality at a price I guess. Mind the slope! (Did do a search and couldn't find it on the forum so...

She wants to stick a wine bottle where?!

Could you not just rough out the holes with a std flat bit or auger bit then sand to a fine internal finish using one of those flappy sanding wheels on a drill press or one of those expanding drum sander thingies of the right diameter might be better as it would guide itself.

Not being one to rush things, progress has been slow! And I was waiting for the elm I'm using for the bar top to dry.

    Good quality hidden drawer runners

I've had runners from these people before and been happy with the quality. Soft close and concealed in a variety of load bearing capacities. (Took my weight!) http://www.sdslondon.co.uk/concealed-fi ... 0-mmb.html

    bandsaw guideblocks. something missing?

Have you found an upgrade kit for this, or will you make your own? I tried the axminster one but although I thought the top could be modified to suit the lower kit was just to bulky.

    bandsaw guideblocks. something missing?

I have a record BS300 so a similar set up, if there's nic's on the discs I'd guess they've been set too close to the teeth and been catching a bit of a rub on a flat plate with wet and dry should sort it. To be honest I'm not very impressed with the set up but then I need to take the time to...

    bandsaw guideblocks. something missing?

No nothing, the disks should be set just just behind the teeth and the disc runs on the blade

    bar build

Bit more progress, glued more parquet up for the side panels and the door, made the frame work from the remains of my earlier mistake. The side will be the same a the front only with 2 small outer panels and a larger inner one that will be the door. I cut the frame at 45deg in an attempt to...

Scotland - Independence and Royal Mail

Here on the Isle of Man we have independance, we have the pound and our postage is at standard UK rates. Carriers /couriers can be another matter and I quite often when ordering online have to request things be sent by post rather than a suppliers usual method to avoid high charges.

    bar build

Bit of progress at last, new frame glued up measurements checked multiple times and this time it's all square. A bit of tung oil and it's starting to look like something. I'm not sure how to deal with the corner on the right hand side, I've made the front panel wide enough so it overlaps the end...
