Earlex HVLP 5000 - thinning paint, how much?

With the Earlex don't try to thin too much, use the bigger needle and apply a thicker coat, the less thinning the better. I was advised to do this by Morrells and it does work better as I had the same problems as you, the finish is a little orange peely so more flattening is necessary. I found...

    Spray Booth Build - Updated!!

I did think about trying a variation on a drop-box before the fan, there's various posts on here about it for dust collecting. Essentially the fan sucks the dust through a box with baffles and the dust "drops" to the floor of the baffles. :?: Chris's is big but gives you an idea of the...

    Spray Booth Build - Updated!!

Richard, My filter set-up is the same as Davy's in the link I posted, a front (wet) filter then a rear or upper (dry) filter. The dry filter is a home made jobby out of sheets of pollen filter material, the set-up is only approx 95% efficient but very cheap. Can you exhaust outside? Here's some...

    Spray Booth Build - Updated!!

Richard, In a word yes, as the filter becomes clogged the fans efficiency drops, the obvious sign is over spray build up around the workshop. Do you still have the blue cartridge filters behind the Concertina filter?

    Spray Booth Build - Updated!!

The filters your using are for secondary filtration to catch dry paint dust, they ain't gonna last very long the way your using them. You need wet filters like these to catch most of the wet overspray http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... SA:GB:1348 Here's a good thread on the subject...

    More MDF Mangling...

Brad, Nice work as usual, I'm just about to build an alcove unit mostly inspired by your previous posts. I was going to use 18mm for everything except the door panels but reading this post and re-reading your cutting list from a previous post you use a lot of 22mm. Is it to give the furniture...

    Your thoughts on www.powertooldirect.co.uk

Have used them twice, first time they had the best price on a Kreg steup, second time best price on a Jacobs chuck. No real problems with them, other than they take a while to deliver which was a week or so after ordering. Jeff.
