    how decent is B & Q's wood to use for sliding sashes, looked at it seems quite straight, would have to plan timber down to my sizes needed. anyone had dealings with thier wood? some of it was very knotty but im sure some is decent stuff? jez

    Hi people, got to make 3 pairs of sliding sashes, they are 35mm thinck, with 14mm double glazed units going in them. with a bevel outside and beads inside. what depth should i make the rebate, to give a nice bevel depth on outside. I will make up ovolo beads to suit. cheers jez

    to make it eaiser on myself, I'm gonna try and get hold of one of these skillets, to template to. in two minds whethever to 2 part or 1 solid part??? 2 parts is gonna be easier i think, just not proper sure on a heat resistant glue.

    hehe, i know, very wise choice, whoever choose that. I'm thinking over size a template in mdf, and allow the collet to ride it. not sure how to achive internal round if doing it this way. Over wise i was going to route out the oval piece in say 20mm, the place it on router table, spin round...

    Evening all, Been asked by a friend who runs a indian restruant. Basicaly he want's 10 serving blocks, as his current ones are made out of MDF. Not a good choice, as hot grills are placed on them. Thinking of making new ones in two part laminated, solid wood. This would be easiest I think...

    dammm, looks like ive had it. I managed to break it by using a quick grip cramp as a spreader, then i gave it a wack with a rubber mallet. just goes to show how strong tht glue was, would tht expoxy resin that is in a syringe do the job, looks like its strong stuff.? b & q sell it i think...
