    Terminating an electric cooker

A bit off topic, but I think I have this oven and unless it's just mine, the grill pan expands when used due to the heat and gets wedged in... so much so that the oven moves before it comes free Just something to check I guess... Edited to add; I didn't see it being wired, so unfortunately...

    wadkin RS lathe restoration

I too like watching these threads! -perhaps enough to give my DR a go before I get too used to using it as it is! Regarding the hinge pin, I'm assuming you would have tried this if possible, but can you get to the underside of it to tap away at it whilst trying to turn it? Failing that, you...

    Infill casting MkII

Mr P, I suppose it must be the wood, although I then looked left and saw the rest of the parts which I have used the finish on... I'm not sure if the handle and the rest of the infill were once one piece of wood though, so that is still looking most likely! Jim, That is a very good point...

    Infill casting MkII

Hi again, I tried your suggestion of using a new bottle of Tru oil, Jim, and whilst I was ordering it, I got some of the sealer at the same time. Unfortunately, it still hasn't worked, and the handle still isn't drying out properly. It's been nearly two days! The sealer seemed to dry...

    Drill chuck

I have a diamond brand chuck on my drill (the same as those linked to above), and although it was really good to start with and I liked it, it has begun to be a bit difficult to open and close... Harry Edited to add; I still use it though, so it isn't that bad

My number 3-- Now with added shavings !!

What a transformation! :) I just bought a Record Number 3 as well. Mine was in quite good condition though -all I had to do was take a very little bit of surface rust of the sole and carefully clean the wood! ...oh and give it a sharpen too! ;) Harry

    Infill casting MkII

The progress has indeed been slow since last time...but this time it has been due to the finish seeming to never soak into the wood :? I have been using TrueOil, as I have done on other items I have either re finished or made, but this time it won't dry properly? I first thought that it was...

    Transporting Machinery

Hi Flying Haggis, A flat bed would be ideal, its just weighing up if it would actually be economic for me to collect it myself, or if it would be better to send a haulier. -This obviously depends on the quotes I receive! Although to be fair, it would be a lot less stress if I did pick it up...

    Transporting Machinery

Flying Haggis, I am not sure if the vans Enterprise hire out would be tall enough?! -I would prefer to secure the saw upright rather than on its side so that the motor housing or adjusters or the table aren't as vulnerable to be broken or damaged Just seen your next post -I think a flat bed...

    Transporting Machinery

Sorry Wizard, but I forgot to include a couple things :? -Fair enough they were quite important for people on here offering quotes etc but I hadn't thought of that as a possible solution when I posted originally. -No offence, but I haven't actually asked about connecting it up to a supply...

    Transporting Machinery

The 2.2m is overall height, including the pallet it is on :) I've asked at two local hauliers, but one simply didn't want the job as it was too difficult and the other was quoting about £800... They are a fairly small time business, so I don't think they had anyone that way, but I think you're...

    Transporting Machinery

My quote is currently £382, -I suppose this quote could be called a commissioned pick up. Pallet Line or National Pallet have both quoted about the same at £94 but they only accept things up to 2.2m tall Sorry, The original question is as Orchard says - if 'anyone know of good hauliers...
