    Multico bandsaw

The tyres on the machine are worn to the metal in places and what i presume is full thickness in others, so the wheel is 6 to 8mm bigger in place. I know the place where this machine came from, and have seen the cause of the problem. one of the workers has a wood burner and used the poor old gal...

    Multico bandsaw

No. this is not like mine. i would say the one i have is older, The top half is all cast aluminum, lots of shapes cast inside to make it sturdy. The door is aluminum too. It is really old school, solid, and no skimping on materials. I will try hard to get some picture on here of it. Not too sure...

    Stail engines,rounders and more.

If your lathe goes at a slow speed you may get away with it, Also i think you will need reverse? Although There may be an option at Asham to get Trapping planes for forward and reverse.. Cant remember now. If you are planing on making thin spindles it is also best to have some sort of steady as...

    Stail engines,rounders and more.

I have a couple of Griffin rounder planes and also bought some from Asham. They are both lovely tools to use. getting them to cut sweetly is an art, but very satisfying. The trapping plane from Asham is also a great tool. I made myself a slow lathe based on the one Asham sells. Really good...

To be honest i fancy a go myself... May see if i can find a local forge, ask if i can have a bash on his anvil..... not sure what the answer would be! or a evening class maybe. If nothing else it will probably prove to me why they are the price they are.

Help wanted! Belt change on union jubilee.

I will look out for that Bob, I am going to take the shaft in to work and give it a good clean, put it up between centres and test it with a DTI see how true it runs. The bearings are enclosed so i would imagine they are replacements. All looks and sounds OK with them. So if it screams when i...
