Scribe-fitting Difficult Profiles

so after a couple of hours doing something else, (more boring  ) i came back and have used my dremel. i had bought a couple of those cheap sets for mini drills from lidl, and used the small rubber wheel and sleeve. very useful for cutting ends of quadrant to shape, and very quick 8)...

    How to achieve grind angle?

bb, the only thing about bolting things down is that you have to ensure that as the chisel gets shorter, you might well have your grind angle changed by the ferrule, or tang of the chisel. otherwise probably in our mutual lifetimes it won't make too much difference. paul

    Scribe-fitting Difficult Profiles

great help but what about micro spaces. reason i ask is that the scribing on a very small piece is quite easy, but then cutting the material, particularly hard wood like oak, is more difficult. i am presently scribing some 3/4 high oak about 3/4 wide too, but the small the curves are quite...

    How to achieve grind angle?

mr, keeping my counsel i think is the phrase  as for finding the centre, well actually i think my suggestion is almost always going to be feasible since i would have thought, and experience suggests that ALL grinders have to allow you to access the drive shaft to remove and replace the...

table saw not powering up properly

check out whether there is sawdust in any strange places. start with the switch, and work on from there. i recently had the same problem with my router, and after blowing out the area around the switch with an aero duster like the sell for computers, i found the problem was solved. paul

    How to achieve grind angle?

simple maths mate where is the centre of the grinding wheel, assuming you can see it, then you can set your grinding support at that point. then mark the wheel there. now us your cheap wh smith protractor or angled rule, at 25 degrees, then mark the wheel above the centre. now set your chisel...

finally got some work in progress, the coffee table saga.

sadly i am not as speedy as some of the others, but trying to ensure i made fewer errors i had to wait for some help to complete the frame glue up. [/img] these two show the final frame glue up, and the shape and size of the top. happily the glue up went well, with help, since i had...

    new bench

as i have mentioned before i got given a lump of kitchen worktop, in my case, an ikea beech one. it's about 7feet long, and i have mounted on a couple of mdf pedestals which are narrower than the worktop width. unless you build the david charlesworth recommended type with a removeable tool...

    A 'Bismarck' plane?

don't forget that Bismarck was actually the first first minister after the reorganisation of the germanic states into one single country under mainly prussian rule. prior to the napoleonic ward, most of the germany principalities, and states had been part of the holy roman empire, but still...
