    External Door - Simple Design?

With ragards the door from in the picture, from reading it seems dovetail joints at the top of frams is good as it allows a bit of alteration when fitting, but with the bar going across beneath the glazed area what kind of joint here? Also if solid wood panels in the door do they need to be...

    External Door - Simple Design?

I did have a play with some offcuts of wood with: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-pc-1-2-SH-Ogee-Entry-Door-Matched-R-S-Router-Bit-Set-/140892969078?pt=Routers_Bits&hash=item20cde01876 And even though not yet perfect the result was Ok and can only improve when I do more than play. They look well...

    External Door - Simple Design?

Good points, maybe I will just copy the existing ones but from better wood, they are very thin, light and warped: Neil

Hey Steve don't worry about hijacking, keeps the thread alive until I get some work done :) Yes cold will be an issue especially as we will be into the winter almost when we go there. Luckily my girlfriends mother has an empty flat in Vidin (nearest big town) so we will probably use that until...

    External Door - Simple Design?

Planning ahead on making some hardwood external doors and looking for a design that would be easy for a beginner but not too boring. Would this design throw up any problems do you think? As my little knowledge tells me, it would be haunched tenons for top and bottom rails to stiles, with...

Hi Steve, so far all the work is being done by 'experts' too big a job for me and we don't have the time to be there so we are trying to get as much of the main work done before we go. Even have double glazing being fit within the next couple of weeks, a lot cheaper to have done there than here...

Work so far: The roof had to be done first and guttering added. Very pleased with the result: Then the next serious problem was a downstairs wall, as it is buried it was so damp the wall was bulging and bricks falling out, before we could have the outside dug out to waterproof it we had to...

February this year my girlfriend and I purchased a house in a village in Bulgaria, the house is in need of lots of work but it is surrounded by valleys and forest and comes with lots of land and a couple of barns. We decided we would move there as soon as we can, everything is so much cheaper...

    Axminster Hobby Series AWHBS250N Bandsaw

I'm suprised how much dust this makes, and it seems to be everywhere. At the moment until I can extend the extraction port past the stand i'm having to hoover up after use.

    Axminster Hobby Series AWHBS250N Bandsaw

Ok not really a review but a bit of advice. The saw works great after setting up and enlarging the table insert for a 1/2" blade, so far put some walnut, oak and cherry through it and very clean, but.. The dust extraction point is so close to the base I couldn't attatch mine with adaptor as...
