Helping a metal worker and Identifying some timber!

Good afternoon, I’m a clock maker from north Manchester U.K. I’ve been a member on here for some time as I enjoy reading the topics and seeing your creations however I do stick to metal working and specifically clock building. I actually joined here when I tried to get into cabinet building...

Clarke Planer Thicknesser - cpt1000, repair project or scrap

I fully agree that if I make a top pulley I will at least get a planer working. I know little about thicknesssers, is the auto feed essential. The work can't be hand fed using a long push stick? (Ready now for the net nanny onslaught!)

Clarke Planer Thicknesser - cpt1000, repair project or scrap

Hello there, thanks for the reply. Yes I have emailed Clarke but I really do need so many spare parts I'm not sure it will be worth it. Just another question (sorry, lots asked)... what are the two files (?) shown in the picture of the wheels being crossed out.

    Clock - WIP

Wow, thank you for the update! I think your latest pictures have answered my question. I was going to ask if you have made your own wheel cutters but since they have many points, I presume they are commercial wheel and pinion cutters. What are they, pp thornton? Despite my massive interest in...

    Clock - WIP

Hello there....I do appreciate this has been 2 years since a last post but I was wondering if anyone knew if this had been finished or even Harbo was still about and could give us an update. I`ve just registered as I`m very interested in this clock! I know this is mainly woodworking forum, but...
