eBay must be full of chancers

Well I saw a a second hand Lie Nielsen plane sell for more than a new one plus shipping which is kind of annoying. The other school of thought is its for the purposes of laundering money.

Clico - End of an Era

I may have mentioned this before but I went to see Alan Reid with my old business in 2002 to see about getting him on the Internet with a web presence. I tried to explain that people made their buying decisions at all hours not just 9 to 5 Monday to Friday and ring us and we will send you a...

Anybody going to the European Woodworking show this weekend?

Just got back, and chris vesper cleaned me out of cash in exchange for some beautiful tools. Truly stunning. I didn't think much to the demos, last time it was David savage, this time it was Derek from F&C. I think it was a sad afterthought on the organisers behalf. Dave charlesworth is...

Funiture Making Courses with Chris Tribe

Sorry, I forgot to mention it, I have to give the cup back this year as I haven't made anything to show - I don't think a picture of a fitted kitchen would work with the judges though? The top was a real labour of love and its stunning but I do agree we were under the pump to the very end and...

Funiture Making Courses with Chris Tribe

I did look at Peter Seftons courses but they were an hours drive further for me, I couldn't commute (doncaster based so just up the A1 and along a bit) and I think the furniture Chris makes is better so it was a no brainer for me. I do wonder why more makers don't do short courses for hobbyist...

Funiture Making Courses with Chris Tribe

Hi Neil, He is a great bloke and for me the acid test is if my wife takes to someone, she is a policewoman and doesn't really like anyone :) (Apart from me) and she thought he was lovely - so there! I have been meaning to review his courses for some time as he is a proper gentleman and...

Funiture Making Courses with Chris Tribe

Hi, I thought I would take a little time to review some of the courses that I attended with at Chris Tribe's workshop in Ilkley. I have been a woodworker since 2000 and it started out as a way to occupy some downtime when I wasn't writing software. I attended a basic skills course at a local...

    A Mini Cockpit Desk

Are you simulating airbus with that setup, by the layout you prefer the right seat as opposed to captains. Be cheaper to get your ppl by the time your done with all that kit :D

    Modern Shaker kitchen

My two pence - I love the craftsman ship and love the design, the handles are perfect. I think a bit of colour would cheer me up but if you like white then your in. Amazing job Dr Bob and having fitted quite a few kitchens in my rental houses, that style is called shaker. WIP pics and some...

    Glass wood wardrobe doors.

Frame and panel might be the best way forward then. Or just use glass lol.

    Glass wood wardrobe doors.

Brilliant, that should keep the weight down. I went to a local furniture store and the panels are simply applied onto what looks like an mdf veneered door so quite frankly, piece of cake :). I shall let you chaps know how it progresses - I have a cherry shaker table and wall cabinet to finish...

    Glass wood wardrobe doors.

Or if anyone knows how to make them that would be better. They are coloured glass and wood, but the coloured glass is probably a vinyl back or sprayed on?.

    Glass wood wardrobe doors.

Just wondering if there is anyone manufacturing those glossy glass and wood doors in the uk, or even the glass components to make yor own? I have added a picture to give you nice chaps an idea. http://www.wharfside.co.uk/images/uploa ... relief.jpg I'm going to attempt some contemporary...
