As I am sort of new to woodturning I have been looking at Youtube but on some of them there workshop is littered with saw dust, if I was ever going to do a video I would make sure the floor was spotless, even now I clean up my little shed as I progress and I only have a house hold machine.

I have an old lathe that has no Digital Tachometer but I have found on You Tube a man has put one on his lathe cheaply, do I need one and if so what are the advantages, if any. Tacho

I will be transporting a Harbor Freight come sip, Axminster, china made lathe, and to help with the moving to my car was thinking of removing the Head stock. How easy is it to get of the bed.

When the dust settles from my wife after spending money on a second lathe I will pop down to Axminster shop as its only 5 mins away from me, I looked on there web site as recommended and for about £20, cheaper than a new chuck. Thanks all for your advise.

I will need a reducer for my new (old) lathe chuck. On the new lathe the thread is 1 inch x8 tpi on my chuck its 3/4 x 16 tpi. Will there be a reducer or do I need to buy a second chuck. Hope I have explained it okay.

In desperation I gave the scroll saw a good look and on the rear side I found a inspection plate, 3 screws later I found the bottom of the blade.
