    I taped mine to 6.4mm ply and it worked perfectly, very happy with the results.

    We all find fault in our own work because we know where we've drifted but I've learned that most of the time other people can't see what you're talking about - so don't talk about it :D You've done good work there, be proud of it. I've not broken a blade for months, it's down to your machine...

    I added three figurals, of sorts, to a four-layered jigsaw I made for my sister... an obvious heart between them, Shrek ears on her other-half, and my teenage hero Freddie Mercury stood on the bay. I think they add nice touches for people to find, I didn't tell her they were there.

    Getting detail

    Don't get the drill press for the Dremel; I got one and it's utter s, h one, t. It does not drill vertically without applying pressure (e.g with a rubber band) to one side. Save yourself teh £25 and get a cheap "real" bench drill for £60. I got one from JTF and it's perfect.

    I have the Scheppach HA1000 and it is incredibly noisy. I also use a cyclone and can vouch for the effectiveness of it, catching 99% of all dust/chippings before it gets to the Scheppach filter. The Scheppach works well with the scroll saw but it is nigh on useless with my table saw, router and...
