Can anyone recommend an economical belt sander for occasional hobby use sanding beams. Or does anybody have a second hand sander their interested in selling. I'm in Leeds.

It looks like Lidl sometimes have these on offer but not at the moment.

Thanks

I picked up a Parkside (Lidl) belt sander at a boot sale for £7, it works fine and does what I expect of it, it came with bench clamps & dust extractor adaptors

They do come round fairly frequently at Lidl , Aldi have a similar one which is also on periodically

Belt sanders were alot better in the past if you ask me (unlike some other types). Have a look at second hand ones on ebay, cold war era Elus come up fairly frequently and they are good (got one for 50p a while back). Old matika’s are good too, but of course Wolf is the best if you can find one wolf-locomotive-belt-sander-t109555.html ;)

On second hand electrics should definatly check thr earth.

These have very good user reviews. I doubt you can go wrong there for £40 for occasional use. Can be clamped upside down aswell.

600W Belt Sander, Tacklife PSFS1A 240V 6 Variable Speed Adjustment Sanding Belt(75X457mm) Flawlessly Sand Tool with Dust Box and 2 Vacuum Cleaner Adaptor, Port-Clamping Lever for Abrasive Belt https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B076SVNMTJ/ ... MBbPPD0KGH

I may have, actually. Let me have a look at the weekend and get back to you if you haven't found one in the meantime.
