Very nice and a very novel way to save a piece, I have seen it done with copper wire but not with leather(that's what it looks like). The lace really shows up against the bowl showing it off to the best
 
We'll have you turning rustic yet Chas LOL. I do like this a lot though I might have used a different knot to finish it off. (Just kidding.

Great piece and a lovely way to treat a split.

I'm sure somebody will comment on the knot not being a knot.

I had a few try's at that myself Chas. I was using copper wire, turned out all right if a little askew ,nowhere near as neat as your's . Thanks Chas. keep 'em coming please .
 
The really annoying thing about this is that even the split is neat. Mine are always jagged, and definitely not straight like this one.
