I have come to the conclusion that my only route to getting the parts for my antique wood working kit is to make them myself.

To that end i am trying to decide on which Universal milling machine to purchase.
This has to be second hand to get the facility within the budget which is sensible not extravagant.

there are two front runners at the moment
The Adcock Shipley 1ESG
or a Harrison 600.
Both can be found with the rare vertical head as well the horizontal arm and Arbors.
Both are reasonably compact and light enough to mount on a properly built skate to make best use of workshop space nd have enough capacity for most of the parts i need to produce.

Can any one advise if there are other models that should be considered and if either of the above have any major flaws or deficiencies
Thanks
