Sliding patio doors.

Hi all. I am intending to make timber sliding patio doors. Any recommendations for the sliding gear. It will need to be weatherproof with brushes or seals. I was thinking of laminating the timber for 2 reasons ; stability and aesthetics. Inside painted natural colour -oil or lacquer. Outside painted. Ideally I would like Ash inside and anything durable (painted) outside. I'm guessing this is probably slightly against best practise as different timbers will move differently but maybe with modern glues? I don't think Ash would be durable enough outside. Advice welcomed. Thanks
