Good evening all in woodworking land .
I've been commissioned to make an oak 15ft dining table with 4 leaf's that can be taken out and the existing ends pushed in - pulled out to accommodate the other leafs .
My question is
Any one know where I can get some ideas regarding the mechanics of the sliding sections or does anyone have any plans drawings etc they can pass on or tell me where I can obtain them from !
In other words ' can anyone help me with the design ? '

Kind Regards

Guggs

No point in 4 leaves unless you want it to go down to less than 4 ft (difficult). 3 leaves gives you about 8ft extending to 15. It's a very common design . Have look around there'll be one near you somewhere. IKEA have several versions. The one I saw had a single piece top which lifted slightly to allow 2 leaves to be pulled out at the ends. All wood as far as I remember , with no mechanics, just clever design
