Chaps I am too busy to do photos at the moment.

Basically a plastic pin inside breaks free and additionally distorts the flimsy plastic case.
You take off the cover, to remove the pin, line everything up, and drill a hole through the back and also the cover.
Then put a m4 bolt through the lot , refit the cover and nut up.
I doubt this makes any sense unless you have a busted one in front of you and they broke in the same way.

The most recent lot (maybe from aldi) have not broken on me yet. They appear to be a more sturdy design but don't have quite the same length.

It would indeed, thank you. I knew I'd seen a thread on this mod somewhere, didn't realise it was here.

I have two of the largest ones from Aldi that I got a few years ago when I was first starting out and they're still soldiering on very well. I think the production quality of these is a bit all over the place with more recent ones being a bit pants and even more recent ones being back to a good standard. It's either that or they've always been the same but some people with strong hands are squeezing much too hard!

This is very useful. I picked up a pair of the 2ft (I think) a while back. They have been fine so far for what I have been doing and don't seem to slip but I am going to make those improvements nonetheless, only a 10min job anyway. I have already make one improvement, I stuck a bit of leather to the jaw faces so they don't slide on melamine and won't scratch either.
