I am thinking of getting a brad nailer to make drawers and for general projects. What gauge would you recommend if you were only to get one. I could get a Axminster Air T50P second hand for about half price but its 16 gauge not sure if that is a good thing or not.

Thanks

An 18 gauge gun will be best for applying lippings, pinning glazing beads, door stops etc up to say 25mm thick, assuming 18g brads go up to 50mm.

16 gauge guns are for heavier structural work or big trims. Small stuff will get splits

Ok thanks. Most of them I am seeing online are the 18g. It was just that I had the opportunity to get a 16g for cheap. I can see myself using it for smaller stuff so will give the 18g a go.
