When getting cuts from timber merchant. The edges have the worst tear out I have ever seen. So I usually get an inch or to extra for trimming

That's prob more than i would need to be fair. Common stuff I would be cutting is 18" and 2ft. The occasional 3 at a push

The main part of the mft I really like is the back fence for cross cuts with the rail that is hinged.

so with all the options for track saws, are there any recomendations ( im guessing festool but they want 130 just for some guide rails, bit much i must say ) i do however like the mft3 but would need to rip down to 610 wide and 457 wide then rip lengths to say 2ft, 3ft, 4ft, 5ft and 6ft

ok ill narrow it down a little, i will need to be doing a lot of the same cuts over and over, like 3x2 ft 4x2 3x18" and 4x18" stuff like that, i mainly need it to be strait, clean and repeatable, is there anywhere in essex i can see a festool or makita or dewalt demo?

I'm not on about new purely second hand. And on fleabay there are various for around the 800 mark. Is the track saw that much better tho ?

Info get them pre cut into more manageable sizes. Then finish cut with a good blade. But the old saw didn't seem to be very good at anything to be fair. Plus the cost of the track saw and everything I would need come to far more than a trade size cabinet saw with a scoring blade

see someone else a little while back mentioned that, however i am working with really large sheets (9x6) and need repeatable exact cuts time and time again, and cant see how this can be achieved with this, plus its a lot more money than getting a much more capable table saw with a scoring blade...
