Well, maybe it's a new trick in the UK, but several of us have been doing this for 6 or 7 years, at least. It was greatly facilitated by the toothed blade for the LN LAJ. Pam

I'd think it much easier and cheaper to pick up an old woodie with toothing blade, especially in the UK. That's what I did 7 or 8 years ago. I also bought a toothing blade for the LN LAJ, which also works very nicely. The burr swiping trick isn't new at all. Pam

Yes, same source, same method. As Derek says, splitting is often a problem so you may want to clamp the piece and/or take a preliminary chop at the base of the dovetail. Pam

Aha, as I thought, you aren't the one who dusts/cleans the house. :) The guys who design appliances persist in designing dust catchers, in spite of the fact they've been told for 20 or 30 years that their designs are hard to keep clean. Pam

In the great Nooitgedagt sell off three or so years ago I bought a Nooitgedagt rebate. I suspect these hit the UK, too. Pam
