Recently had to make this urn for a neighbours relative as an urn for her husbands ashes. :( :(
It is made in Elm and had to be made out of 3 pieces. It is 8inches square by 8 inches high plus the finial which is Ebony apparently the recipient was very pleased with it. :? :?

Hi - a nice job.

I have a DVD Mike Mahoney has done on hollow forms and also urns.

He recommends a screw thread on the top rather than a press fit to avoid any, er ....... accidents!

Still, a very nice job and I am sure both recipients will be happy with it.

Very nicely executed and subtle for the job it will perform.

Thank you all for your coments.
The design was based on one from the book Turned Boxes by Chris Stot.

Malcolm, this is not only a fantastic piece but a lovely gesture, I am not surprised that they liked it.
