I am looking for suitable plywood (sheathing?) 600 mm high to fit along the boundary fence of a speedway track which will come into contact with the shale (grit and clay mix) track and some scrubbing from the bikes. The plywood will be painted white.

I assume tanalised plywood would be best although difficult to find.
1) For extra durability would it be ok to dip all edges overnight in preservative, would this have a detrimental effect on the ply glue?
2) Will paint stick to tanelised wood?
3) Would standard untanalised sheathing ply with edges dipped and painted be just as good?

Thanks for any advice.

I would think your best off with buffalo board.

It's phenolic resin covered plywood.

I'd cot any exposed edges with epoxy resin or vanish if exposed to the sun.

It's used for lorry floors, kids playgrounds, signage...

Otherwise ext ply will do if painted.

Shuttering ply will check.

I used some wisa ply on a kids sandpit and hasn't delaminated or rotted.

Cheers James
