Well, all 3 pairs of my work trousers have had the pockets re-sewn so many times the material is beyond useless.

Any recommendations for decent work trousers with a few of the extra pockets that last more thab a few washes?

I wear Scruffs Drezna jeans from some spurious online shop. Strong, loads of pockets and I jump the queue in most cafes as I look less workmanlike*

Can't recall where from though, wherever you can find them cheap I suppose. They're more "comfy" than the other offerings from Scruffs anyway.

*not in any way true

I bought a couple of pairs of multi pocket work trousers from screwfix a few years ago, the brand name was Blackrock.
I've been impressed with how durable they are.
Mrs Roughcut has had to replace/re-stitch the zips but apart from that no rips or tears and they don't shrink in the wash.
The upwardly mobile tradesmen wear engelbert strauss apparently.

Snickers for me. Ripstop fabric, not sure what they're called. They're light years ahead of strauss, in fit and durability.

2 pairs each of scruffs. Winter black ones. Weather stop type material. Cordura panels. Heavy and tough. Summer ones a bit lighter. Grey and black. Both have survived longer than anything else I have tried in a job that wrecks clothing. I buy the scruffs waterproof boots too. They aren't waterproof. Not really. But they are pretty durable and last well and more than that they are light. Can't abide working in heavy boots all day in my job. Wearing a full body harness loaded with gear, buckets of water, tools, ropes not to mention crawling through roofspaces, climbing over plant and up and down ladders each time to get to the next drop. Thats before you even start abseiling and holding onto concrete ledges with odd parts of your body. Their gear lasts pretty well in a fairly extreme environment if that helps.

Still working for Milk Tray then?

I'd buy snickers clobber but I'd have to call it Marathon.

I would very highly recommend Jobman fitters trousers, I've four pairs the oldest are 4 years old and nearly worn out now. They are quite expensive but worth every penny , I wouldn't have work trousers without built in knee pad pockets ever again.

+1 for Scruffs trousers. Give me a second to drop my pants to find a model number.........................

Oh dear, am now sat here in my underpants and no better off!

They are black / grey colorway and have knee-pad pockets and hi-viz trim.
These have out-lasted lots of other well-known brands. Oh, and you can get exact waist / leg fittings pretty spot on. HTH

Cheers

Andrew

Well it seems like scruffs get the most votes here. I'll have a look for best prices.

Thanks gents.

+1 for dreznas, one of the only work trousers that are 100% cotton, I can's stand plastic clothing, especially as I do a fair bit of hot work, can be got cheap ebay.

Snickers floor layers trousers for me, pricey but the best knee protection available in a knee pad style trouser hands down I'v tried them all :)
