Strange looking lathe ??

Spotted this on E---

looks strange :?

The head stock tail stock and tool rest are at the back of the stand :?: , looks like you have to lean over to use it :? you would be forever clearing the wood shavings from the top as it cant fall on the floor

And would be unable to get full travel of chisel handles :?

Not come across that make before either , very odd

What do you think ???

I stopped watching after 3 mins to scary for me :shock:

Is that chisel thing really floating about and giving massive chatter , looks like a potential accident about to happen

I think the 'strange' layout was because the lathe was primarily intended as a copy lathe with associated jigs rather than hand turning.

I do believe that if I were to spend 8 mins doing a copy then I would be looking at a better finish than that person got in a much shorter time and if that is the very best he's looking for then he should give up now or seek help.
