I'm considering giving up on my Aldi belt grinder and switching to a normal grinding wheel setup to go with my Sorby jigs. Looking around I see Toolpost selling 'ruby' wheels for reasonable money and Peter Child doing microcrystalline wheels for a little more.
I'm planning to fit one of these in place of the grey wheel on my grinder but which is best? Anyone used either or recommend something different?
The belts give a nice edge but can be fiddly to change. I do like the wide platform though. My grinder is only a 20mm so will I miss the width?
Trying not to spend more than I have to as I have my eye on a buffing kit as well.
