However, how boring is the guardian website? Not one pic of either him or his work. The people who read that site must be quite monotone.

Yes, so true Wizer. For people to appreciate Sam's work they really needed to see a few pictures.

Sam Maloof was on the top of my "woodworkers I'd like to meet" list, his work really was of the top drawer, and from what I've read, was a very kind and generous man. He'll be greatly missed by the woodworking community and beyond.
