Great review as usual Derek! =D>

I particularly like the methods of adjustment in the Gordon plane...well thought out and effective.

The results speak for themselves...it's so nice to see a hand tool modernised so that it can serve to show hand tools are able to compete and exceed the capabilities of their power tool equivalents.

Don't get me wrong...I am not totally against "devils with tails" (as ALF would often say)...but I love the tranquillity of hand tools and to have them perform, as they have always done and result in quality work is comforting.

Now get ye to thy workshop and fix that vintage dado plane!

Thanks for showing us this review. Well done!
It is a beautiful and outstanding plane. I like much the adjusting mechanism for nickers and the way of releasing and securing wedge.
I have some traditional wooden dado planes like that you showed in the review on which I spent some more time as a so old tool requires. They cut very well, although the Gordon plane cut seems to me cleaner.

Ciao
Giuliano :D
