I have a new toy to play with (lathe) so I must make room. ( Shed's not very big)
So. I am selling my Tyme Avon.
It is 240v 50hz single phase 560w (3/4hp)
4 Speed:
- 470rpm
- 750rpm
- 1150rpm
- 2000rpm
via poly V-belt
headstock/tailstock - 2mt,,, headstock swivels 180 degrees
H/stock drive spindle 25mm x 2mm ISO
Diameter over the bed bars 280mm
----"-----with headstock 90 degrees 500mm
----"-----with headstock 180 degrees 580mm
It comes with an outrigger for outboard turning,
3 x rests - 245mm and 115mm straight and 280mm curved.
100mm faceplate
a live centre, and knockout bar.
A service manual, (Original)
and if you happen to have an Axminster precision chuck, a backplate to fit it.
It also comes with a very sturdy bench. The size of this is:
1530mm long
540mm at the bottom 450mm at the top - (A-shaped)
and 780mm high.
The lathe is heavy, the bench is extremely heavy :shock:

Collect only, will need a van I reckon. Well at least for the bench, You can get the lathe into a car with little or no problem.

No connection with the seller, but I'd strongly recommend the Avon for anyone who wants a versatile machine that is also very precise because of the configuration of the bed bars. I bought mine secondhand and only sold it last year after about 15 years excellent service.

I have just picked one of these up as a main lathe and would also highly recommend it. It has to be one of the ugliest lathes going IMHO but I can't fault it for quality and solidity. Belt changing is easy and quick and the speed range is good enough for most jobs. Well worth the money (though I got mine for a lot less via the club he said gloating) and you want get an equal quality mosdern lathe for this price.

... and just to add, you won't need a van to collect it. I got mine (which had a 2 foot bed extension as well) into the back of a Mk 3 Golf!
(and my back has now recovered, too........)

Ah Dick,
the van comment was for the bench.
I'm not sure whether you could put that into even a large estate car.
