Please be gentle; these are some of my first works and if all goes to plan there should be seven photographs (what an effort to make them smaller than 255KB). I take my hat off to some of you old hands who's show progression as you work - one day I will be there, but for for now I enjoy some of your presentation as much as your woodworks. Just in case all goes well - 1 x inlaid oak box, yew off-cut tea light, silver birch jewelry log boxes. And yes those and a few more sold or just taken by family. Finish sand sealer x 3 180 - 240 - 500 grit sander then block polish. What a difference to the feel when finishing with the finer grit paper.

Hiya Fred55 and welcome.

Thats nice work on the boxes and yes the finer grits are the answer as well as the sanding between sealers. You have done a good job with your photos and it taks us all a little time to perfect the system of doing this, but now you have achieved success, you will have no probems. Try to stick to a specific smaller size and keep the reduced shots in a separate file for later use.

What bandsaw do you have and how long have you been making your boxes?

Alex

scrollsaw I think, nice job. Most cameras allow you to select the size, 640 x 480 is ample for all internet work.

Thanks for the kind comments; the bandsaw used is a Scheppach 3h and just started making them and most of my idea come from this site (thankyou all) and youtube. This weekend going to pop into the North Of England show so who know what I will come back with (really like the record BS400 bandsaw). Next on the list of wants - bench top planner thicknesser ; 1/4" dewalts/makita router. Then off to raid wood piles and farmer friends land. Scollsaw I have; but have mostly used for inserts on lids; initials and a heart. Yes a bit soppy but the daughter n grandson like them.
