I have been after one of these for a while, however one has just come up at the right money so here it is.
Bloody heavy and a 300mile round trip but it is now safe and sound in its albeit crowded new home.

If anyone had any advice or maybe even a pdf of a manual, it would all help.

Hopefully once I've manged to get a domino my Kitchen build will begin in earnest!

I imagine some careful manouvering was needed to get that off the trailor, up the pavement and into its new home!

It looks heavy!

Just as as an aside; I am fettling it at the minute but cannot seem to drop the spindle through the table?

I have that adjustment working however that only lowers/raises. Does the spindle actually remove or is there something obvious that I'm missing.

Here's a parts manual for the BF-6, might give you some clues. Over the years a few people have visited the forum requesting the workshop manual for the BF 5/6, not sure how they got on.

http://shop.pospischil.at/media/ersatzt ... -7_K7x.pdf

I know the latest machines have quick release spindles, not sure about the BF-5, did once use one but I can't for the life me remember if I ever removed the spindle.

Good luck!

Thanks for the help guys. It's apreciated. Katellwood you have a pm.

Regards

Jay

I signed up on your forum, looking for a manual for the Felder BF5 31. I am about to put in an offer on one that is in good condition. I live in Ontario Canada, and I will have to make a trek to North Bay, that is 3hours north of here. The buyers grandson is selling it. If you still have the combination Felder machine can you tell me arbour diameter, and the shaper spindle diameter. The voltage is quite workable for me, but the trek at this time of the year will be quite something else. Cheers Jerry Walker from the Great White North.

If it's the same as my old one then both are 30mm
That being said the spindle shaft on the bf5 is removed when not in use (will not wind below the table) and I know they did different sized shafts so it could easily have a 1 1/4 shaft
Hope this helps

Hi, I understand Felder are no longer able to supply parts for the BF5 31. Any ideas where to get parts now? I am in need of a thickness planer feed chain drive shaft and chain (02-7 and 02-5) currently. Normally the part that goes are the gears for moving the table up and down for different thickness planing. Oddly the chain is 1/2" x 3/16" with a length of 760mm !!! This one was built in 1989 so pretty new. I love it, so useful and practical.
