Hi all,

I'm after some advice really. I need a shoe rack and would like to build my own. Just plain MDF, nothing fancy. Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of any printable plans for either shelves or bookcases (I can then modify)?

I have no previous experience of woodwork/joinery but i have various tools and and can work a computer. So if there are any decent free CAD programes I would be willing to look into them.

I'd just like a basic set of instructions, a list of materials and hopefully I can do the rest!

Thanks in Advance
Sam

Just for starters try the sticky (looks like a blob of glue thrown onto a board with an exclamation point) near the top of the page. Lots of links to reference material. Or you could Google "free woodworking plans" , loads and loads if I remember correctly.
And welcome to the nuthouse by the way , nice to have you along.

Hi Sam

Something to consider, if the shoes / boots put it it are wet, your MDF is not going to last very long.

Consider MRMDF painted after construction.

I'm not sure CAD is the true priority for a beginner wanting to make a shoe rack.

But, Jacob BugBear*, since the OP asked the question, maybe he should be the one to make that decision for himself.
