I was given an old black and decker corded drill. I have lost the chuck key, and want to get another. Is there a likely standard size- it would be a 1980's/early 90's drill. I would guess that it would take up to 1/2" drills

I did buy one of those 4 in one types. It was made of cheese I think, although cost about a pound so am not surprised. The largest of the sizes seemed to fit, but since i dont have that either i cant check!

Should be standard size on a B&D. There are two different standard sizes for "domestic" drills, one for a 10mm (3/8") chuck and a larger one for the 13mm (1/2") chuck.

CHuck keys are characterised by the diameter of the spigot and the number of teeth.

Once you have this information, Look on the Chronos website for replacements.

cheers. i will have a measure. worst case, the budget will stretch to 2- although old, the drill seems to be solid, and I dont really use one often enough to justify replacing it.
