It’s refreshing when large companies send out small to medium orders and treat it the same as if it was a much larger order- good on them .,

Living on an Island, deliveries from some companies are expensive. Small pieces of metal I can get by post from eBay, but expensive. (1 metre 12 x 12 mm box, £12-50) I have a local metal fabricators who order regularly from stock holders in Southampton, so I browse the stockholders website for what I want and order via the fabricators. Although they put on a percentage to cover handling, that amounts to far less than carriage direct from the stockholders. A box of biscuits for the fabricators means a welcome when I want more metal. (3 metres 12 x 12 mm for about £4)
Find a local fabricator and go see them with a box of biscuits.

Oh that's the source of the bad words I can hear from pointy head land.

I get my steel from a local Agri Repair place. Most is in stock, or will be in next day.
Plus I get to raid the scrap bins.

For the metal Art work I used to do, it was Choccy hob nobs, PG Tips and say hello to my local scrap yard
