Bosch 12" Chop Saw

My Bosch 12" Chop saw ( can't recall the model) packed up suddenly a couple of weeks back.

It has had relatively little hobby use, although it was bought in an unused S/H condition from a chap who bought it new, stored it for 5 years in his loft then decided to sell it.

It is the up and down version (not sliding). I believe this particular model is no longer produced?

It was working normally, then mid cut just lost power and stopped. I have been meaning to sort it out hoping it would be the brushes?? There does seem there is quite a lot of carbon left on the brushes but have no way of knowing how much is enough.

Has anyone got knowledge of the chop saw, and their short falls.

Also, has anyone got good experiences or know of a Bosch spares outlet??

Have you checked the Plug and Lead as it sounds like it could be a broken wire as well

I have used these in the past http://www.bosch-professional.com/gb/en ... rvice.html and just ordered through the dealer but that was several years ago
So I cannot vouch for the service now

Check the windings is common for bosch windings to fall apart, easy to fix

I thought repairing windings was a pro shop job.???

If it needs rewinding forget it if a wire has fallen off then just re solder it back
