Is it something in the water???

Gill said: Sorry I refuse to go there, for reasons you are or should be well aware of, and it would break the forum rules. What I don't understand is all the complaints of "off topic posting". Why then is there an "General Chat (Off Topic)" forum?? It just doesn't make sense. If you don't...

Doors that do your nut in !

A really nice job Jason, but taking longer than planned? Been there myself many times. I hope it's worth your while (financially), but either way its certainly a learning experience at the end of the day. It will be nice to see the finished product installed. Best of luck. Tony

And the award for the smallest shop goes to...

Hi Sam, I've got to admire what you've done there. You should be very proud of yourself. It's a shame you are not nearer as I would happily give you a few tools. I've got a table saw you could have as well as a cheap router, a couple of cheapo sanders etc but could you be trusted not to cut...

    Hmm Whisky ;-)

Have I stirred up a can of worms here? Laophraig or Talisker has got to top the list, but since a visit to Orkney, then Highland Park and Scapa (recently re-opened) have taken my fancy. For those who haven't tried or have tried and didn't like a single malt, can I suggest Scapa. It is soooooo...

    Fox Combination Machine F60250

Exactly my problem. I really want to see it or at least hear from someone who has one to get some feedback. Fox has always impressed me in the value for money stakes too. One of the best bits about this combo is that it is two separate machines, so the planer can sit apart from the saw/spindle...

    Easter Eggs !!

Does anyone else think Easter egg chocolate tastes better? I especially like it out of the fridge (or ideally from the freezer), that thin chocolate, nice and crisp............... Also, my alltime favourite, Rowntree Mackintosh caramel filled eggs in packs of eight I think - anyone remember...

    Fox Combination Machine F60250

Has anyone bought one of these or seen this in the flesh http://www.rutlands.co.uk/cgi-bin/psProdDet.cgi/F60250 Being short on space, I've been considering this for a while, but there is nobody nearby who stocks it so it would be an unseen purchase. Its available elsewhere for £1189 inc...

    Blast off

And thanks from me Alf. You must by now realise just how very important you are here. I've spent the last couple of years enjoying everything here, and many times, its your humour, knowledge and damn common sense that bring people like me back time and again. After many, many forums, this is...

    Steering Wheel Project

Hi again Dave, Yes. I've looked at Ians designs before. In fact I stayed very near him on Skye a few years ago for a weeks holiday. Just didn't know it at that time. As an aside, it was our holidays on Skye that made us move to Scotland 12 years ago. We now hope to move/retire further north...

    Fox Planer Thicknesser

Hi Andrew, I bought this from Rutlands around October/November last year. Sale price then was £129.99 if I remember correctly. I bought extra blades and I seem to remember it was just over £150 all in. I keep mine in the van for site use, and it takes a beating, but is ideal for what I need it...
