    Dog locks for Evolution rails

Oh, nice - they can be quite pesky to insert! I've printed in PETG, PLA and ABS, but I'm finding that PLA+ is fine for most jobs which don't require resistance to temperature.

    Dog locks for Evolution rails

I never thought of that!!! Also, if they were reversed, locking the track to the dogs would push the wood onto the fence instead of away from it! Thanks for the input! I'm going to reverse them and print out a couple more!

    Dog locks for Evolution rails

I'm sure that everyone else has know about them for ages, but I've only recently come across Dave Stanton's dog locks for MFT tables. I was going to order a pair, but I use Evolution tracks on my MFT instead of Festool ones (much cheaper!) and they have T-slots facing down instead of up. So...

    3(ish) chairs

Yes, yes I did  but I trust you all to be nice... Um, yeah. So, you're completely right! It needs to lose at least 6 inches off the back. I held a spare crest at that height and it looks so much better, more "solid" and nowhere near as flimsy! Thanks :D I'll try a mockup seat with a...

    3(ish) chairs

I've just finished off two chairs and a stool. I'm still working on the designs of these, this is the second iteration of the high back chair and stool, and the third iteration of the side chair. I'd be very interested in any criticism of the designs, as I am getting happier with them, but...

    Hand Screw / Parallel Clamp

Awesome idea! I've been looking at buying a hand screw for a while now, but I will be copying your design instead! Thanks

    Anarcist's design book in pdf

Yup, I've got it in PDF. The PDF is not restricted in any way (you can print and add notes etc) and is great quality, you can zoom right in to the drawings and photos. Also, It's a great book - I would really recommend it.

    Old hand saw buyers guide.

I recently bought a Spear and jackson skew back as I had got fed up with hardpoints too. I wasn't expecting much from a new saw at 26 quid, but it arrived nice and sharp, filed crosscut and without too much set on it. It cuts beautifully leaving a great finish. Not as beautiful as an old D-8...

    Boot Pull

Very nice. That looks like a perfect evening project to give me practice with the coping saw, rasp and spokeshaves. Once I've finished the current batch of chairs I'll be shamelessly stealing your design!

A Picture Heavy & Probably Too Descriptive Staked Bench

That looks great. I love the simplicity and the way the chamfers and shaping make the seat seem lighter and thinner than it is.

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Me too. That’s very very pretty...

    Kids table and the journey

That’s really nice! I love the exposed joinery, it looks like I will last a darn sight more than 5 years.

Small walnut side table with drawer

Those are some good looking joints! Thanks for the update, it’s making for a great read.

A Picture Heavy & Probably Too Descriptive Staked Bench

I’m liking the easing of the top edges. It’s a good look and should be really comfortable. I painted the seats on a couple of stools and a side chairs using milk paint and then banged some wax over the top. It gives a nice finish which lets the grain show through but hides the glue lines...

    A very quick TV stand

So, I ended up with a spare day, Christmas shopping done and everything ready early. I needed a project. One I could do quickly! Ever since reading Chris Schwarz's wonderful Anarchist's Design Book, I have meant to try out something along the lines of his Boarded Bookshelf. I don't need more...

A Picture Heavy & Probably Too Descriptive Staked Bench

Looking good! I love the trick with the mirror, I'll have to steal that idea! I find the tapered reamer hard to line up with the bevel gauge myself, so I normally give myself a longer shank to line up with the bevel by attaching one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosch-26085800 ...

    Low back welsh chair build

Thanks both! I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Yeah, I tried it out on an offcut of sycamore before I slathered it over the chair as I was slightly worried I'd turn the chair green  The spindles turned really between centers on the lathe, no vibration or chatter at all...

    More bandsaw woes

Have you checked that both wheels spin freely when the blade and drive belt are off and that there is no play in the bearings?
